I think Hillsdale College offers the best, and most important, online courses in America - and they're free! Even more astonishing is that Hillsdale College doesn't take federal funding either. They rely entirely on private support and tuition. Imagine that, relying on their reputation and good stewardship to run a college that teaches good citizenship? They promote independence, and they live by it too. Their charter was established in 1844 and it remains unchanged ever since. Not true for Yale, Harvard, and Princeton - they change their charter to satisfy their own modern hubris and their coffers are stuffed with Federal dollars (our dollars). Anyway, back to common sense and historical context...check out Hillsdale's Land of Hope online series - it's my favorite so far.
